The Inn
In the 1700s it was customary to place a pineapple on your front porch as a way of letting friends and neighbors know you were welcoming guests - we hope you'll always feel welcome at Pineapple Hill.
The History
This wonderful five plus acre Inn was once part of an original hundred acre farm set in the heart of Bucks County. The eighteen inch thick walls and wide plank pumpkin pine floors exemplify the craftsmanship of a by-gone era. The stone foundation of the original barn from 1790, is now the surround for the beautiful in-ground pool. Other stone ruins also exist on the property, the milking station, the summer kitchen and spring house. Presently the foundation of the summer kitchen is being used for a relaxing gazebo with sitting area.
The Pineapple Hill Inn has been a functioning B&B since 1984 with many transformations since that time, which included a large addition that presently houses the Baltimore Oriole Suite, the Sandpiper and the Meadowlark. The grounds have also been completely landscaped with many beautiful perennial beds and a lovely pond with water falls. Two decks have been added, one large wrap around in the front for lounging or enjoying your morning coffee and breakfast as well as a private deck off the back of the Baltimore Oriole. As new owners since March of 2013, we hope we can continually bring change and enhancement to what is already a wonderful place to stay.
The Rooms
Each of the rooms is individually decorated and furnished with period antiques, family collectibles and artwork. The rooms although quaint still offer all of today’s amenities.
Pineapple Hill has 9 guest accommodations, 3 suites and 6 rooms all with their own private baths and 6 with gas fireplaces. The rooms also feature cable TV, Air conditioning and Free WiFi. The private baths are enhanced with plush white towels, Gilchrist and Soames bath products, blow dryers and pool towels for your summer comfort.
The Fine Print
There is typically, but not always, a two night minimum on Saturdays. You are always welcome to ask about availability for a one night stay on a Saturday. No children under 12. A credit card is required to make a reservation. We accept most major credit cards, checks or cash for payment upon arrival. Check-in time is any time after 3pm. We ask that you please let us know if you would be checking in after 6pm. Check out time is 11am. Daily housekeeping included in the room rate. Daily on-site management.

The Area
Shopping and browsing through the many art galleries, specialty shops and antique shops will fulfill even the most seasoned shoppers hunger. From the quaint shops of Peddlars Village to the eclectic mix of specialty shops and galleries of New Hope and Lambertville you can find many wonderful treasures. Antique Malls, Flea Markets and Farmers Markets also abound.
History of course is a very large draw to the Bucks County area. Enjoy Washington Crossing Park and Museum, the Parry Mansion, the Thompson Neely house or take the Covered Bridge Tour. If that isn’t enough perhaps exploring a castle will intrigue you…The Fonthill Castle, The Mercer Museum and the Moravian Pottery and Tile Works allow you a glimpse into the life, history and talents of the fascinating Henry Mercer, a Bucks county native. If perhaps farming is of interest to you, the Howell Farm which operates as an active farm from the 1800’s, complete with horse drawn and oxen drawn ploughs is a total step back in time. The Howell Farm also features a Corn Maze seasonally.
Outdoors and the activities that go with it, make Bucks County the perfect stop. Biking, Hiking, Running or Walking….The trails are fabulous, especially our Historic Tow Path, with access right down the road from the Inn. If your sport leans more towards water, we have you covered as well….Tubing, Canoeing, Kayaking, Rafting, Boating or Fishing all on the scenic Delaware River.
Nature abounds in Bucks County….Visit the Wild Flower Preserve or climb to the top of Bowmans Tower and view nature at its finest, with picturesque views of the rolling hills and river. ( a perfect photo opp) Just touring the countryside will also afford you many opportunities to stop and enjoy some country produce at roadside stands and farms with livestock from Alpacas to Buffalo. Keep an eye open for Bald Eagle, Red Tail Hawks and of course Osprey that love to feed on the fish population of the Delaware.
Wine and Dine at some of the finest restaurants in the country. You can enjoy casual outdoor dining along the Delaware….a more formal dining in some of the areas oldest historic buildings or party the night away at your choice of our many pub style bars and restaurants. There is something for everyone. The local Vineyards are also a great way to spend an afternoon. Consider the Tasting Tour, which includes many of our finest vineyards as well it can include some of our Brewery’s.
